Fachadas. Walking through old Caribbean cities

This collection is inspired by my many visits to Campeche and Mérida in the Southeast of México. Blood and an old heartbeat tie me to this land. Most of these houses are more than a century old. They've been, and still are, the stage for countless stories. They hold family secrets of loss and redemption, they've witnessed pettiness and quiet acts of love. They hold the past, and if we want to, they let us catch a glimpse of it.

The collection is always incomplete, it’s always a work in progress. In May 2026, I’m traveling back. Only then will I be able to finish this collection. The houses where I come from and the ones that saw my family start are still waiting for me.

All the pieces in this collection are:

  • 20 × 20 cm or 21 × 28 cm

  • Watercolor and ink
